ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL

We know all projects are different, and the correct solution for one client may not be appropriate for another

Design

Electronic Design

Our in-house electronics hardware and embedded software design team has extensive experience in consumer, commercial and industrial product development. They will take a concept or problem and apply the best economic, performance or manufacturing solution, designed for manufacture, future-proofed.

Software Design

Our software team has the experience to deliver amazing solutions to difficult problems. With huge experience in complex algorithm development and execution, embedded processor applications, complex and rich user interfaces and FPGA, we have the skills you need.

Industrial Design

We work with in-house and external industrial designers to satisfy form and function within the constraints of the project. We believe there are many approaches and solutions to design problems, and allow you flexibility to choose a style and cost best suited to your project.

Mechanical Design

The Innovators mechanical design team has a broad range of experience – from consumer to medical, from industrial to transducers. They specialise in novel solutions that reduce part count, reduce cost, reduce design time and improve performance. Whether it’s an assembly of metal parts, a high cosmetic enclosure for electronics, a multi shot over-molded waterproof assembly or just a single component, we can help.

Manufacture

In a wide range of manufacturing projects spanning many years, we have built solid relationships with an extensive network of allied factories and production teams, both in New Zealand and Asia. Innovators New Zealand based production engineers work closely with our local and international production management teams to provide high levels of design security, and manufactured product meeting quality, cost and timeline goals. We are happy to team with your personnel to transfer knowledge, and to give you the most cost-effective mix of in-house and contract expertise.

We have solid experience in Production Engineering, including test equipment, calibration systems, on-line programming, documentation systems and production management. Our involvement with a product can continue through to end-of-life, should ongoing support be needed.

Rapid Manufacture

With both in-house rapid prototyping and strong links with suppliers of alternative prototyping systems, Innovators is well positioned to serve your rapid manufacturing requirements. Consider Innovators Rapid-Prototypes for; One-off manufacturing, Responding to a ‘parts availability crisis’, Alternative tooling for low-volume manufacture, Production of Serialised Components and Test Parts.

Tooling

From simple open-shut tools to complex multi-shot over-molding tools we know the right tool maker for the job. Whether is it is tooling for your product, or you have more tool orders than you can satisfy, we can help you navigate the overseas tooling market and assist in managing tool production, shipping and injection, ensuring your experience with offshore tooling is a positive one.

We have established relationships with tool suppliers who ensure fast, top quality tooling at very competitive prices. With extensive in-house plastics design and tooling experience, and our production and QA team based in China, Innovators has become one of the most responsive and best value-for-money tool makers in New Zealand and Asia.

Technology Incubation Programme

We operate a privately funded, technology-focused incubation programme. Through our established network of advisors and mentors, research organisations, and technology entrepreneurs, we identify and develop complex, early stage technologies (IP), identify market needs, and establish leadership teams to incubate and grow high growth potential, global scale, disruptive business ventures.

Fail Early

We intend to incubate complex technologies into successful businesses. Not all technologies solve a market problem. In the early stage of assessment, we work very hard to make the idea fail. The sooner it fails, the fewer resources are wasted. If, however, we are unable to make the idea fail, it has a higher likelihood of success as the technology develops.

Smart Money

“Incubators address the most challenging aspects of building a successful new technology company: access to early capital and expert mentoring to turn ideas into tangible business models”, Sumeet Jain, CMEA Capital.
